Letter: Clean Elections pledge makes Breen the best choice

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to support Clean Elections candidate Cathy Breen in the Democratic primary for the District 25 state Senate seat. Maine’s Clean Elections system reduces the influence of big money in government and enhances the accountability of elected officials to their constituents. By agreeing to be a Clean Election’s candidate, Breen is walking the talk of campaign finance reform. Although funds to support the basics of a campaign will be limited, Breen has agreed to be a Clean Elections candidate, proof that she values open, democratic, accountable government. She repeatedly demonstrated these values during her six years on Falmouth's Town Council. Please join me in voting for Cathy Breen in the Democratic primary for the District 25 State Senate seat on June 10.

Karen Farber, vice chairwoman
Falmouth Town Council
