FALMOUTH — Elizabeth Hamill, 80, died Dec. 24.

She was born in 1933 in New London, Conn., the daughter of Elizabeth Warner and Sherwood Picking. She was always involved in community and volunteer activities. She helped in her children’s schools, was a founding trustee of the Women’s Exchange, and served on the boards of the Portland Society of Art and the Maine Historical Society. In later years, before retiring, she was curator of the Maine Historical Society.

She is survived by five children, Susan, of Cumberland Foreside, Sherwood, of Portland, Elizabeth, of Falmouth, Anne, of Salt Lake City and William III, of Park City, Utah; and four grandchildren, Alanna and Marin, and Finn and Charlotte.
