Therese E. Mank, 84

PORTLAND — Therese E. Mank, 84, died Nov. 16, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lowell, Mass., on Dec. 15, 1928, the daughter of Frederick V. and Elizabeth T. Lynch. She attended local schools in Lowell and Braintree, Mass., and graduated from Presque Isle High School after moving to Maine with her family.

She married Robert V. Mank Sept. 3, 1956. They met when they both worked for Nelson & Small during the '50s and '60s. She then went on to work for more than 30 years for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Maine.

Mank was a long time member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Portland, where she was very active in church activities.

As a young woman, she enjoyed making several trips to Europe, she enjoyed spending time at the beach and reading a good book. She also enjoyed keeping in touch with family, and friends which she had made early in life while living at the YMCA in Portland after moving from Presque Isle.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert V. Mank Nov. 3, 1992; and three sisters, Dorothy A. Dunham, Mary F. Humphrey and Ellen P. White.

She is survived by a sister, Janet A. Bird, of Portland; a daughter, Meghan P. Mank, of Falmouth; two dogs, Panda and Teddy; a nephew, Michael T. White, of Falmouth, and many other nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at 8 a.m. Thursday at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on the same day, followed by an 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Ocean Avenue, Portland. Burial will follow at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta.
