South Portland spa owner pleads guilty to 2 charges
SOUTH PORTLAND — The owner of the former Red Stone Spa entered two guilty pleas Wednesday in Portland Unified Court.
Lucy Louie, a New Yorker who owned the spa once at 585 Broadway, paid $1,500 in fines after pleading guilty to charges of operating a massage establishment without a city license and operating an unlicensed adult use establishment, according to South Portland Police Lt. Frank Clark.
A third charge of operating an adult use establishment within 1,000 feet of a public park or public school was dismissed in the plea agreement.
Louie was ordered to close the spa in August after a police investigation stemming from complaints. The spa had been open since December 2012.
