Victim of fatal fall identified in Portland
PORTLAND — A man who died Sunday after falling from the top floor of a downtown parking garage has been identified as David Thorne, 54, of Portland.
Police Department Lt. James Sweatt on Monday said officers found Thorne's body at 3:30 p.m. in front of the Free Street entrance to the One City Center garage, after he reportedly fell 80 feet from its top floor. Witnesses said they had seen Thorne sitting with his legs hanging over the edge of garage wall, according to Sweatt.
Police said Thorne's death is not considered suspicious.
