Karl A. Rauch Jr., 56
YARMOUTH —Karl A. Rauch, Jr, 56, of Cousin’s Island, died of metastatic melanoma at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough on Aug. 8.
Rauch was born at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and spent most of his life in Monmouth County, N.J., before relocating to Philadelphia in 2002. He moved to Maine in the fall of 2012.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Villanova University, and was the founder and president of Rubicon LLC, a management consulting firm in Yarmouth. He began his career at Banker’s Trust (now Deutsche Bank) in Manhattan, then pursued his passion for business as a serial entrepreneur, developing successful companies such as Coachware, The Spectrem Group, MFX Interactive and Rubicon Wealth Management.
He was active in the entrepreneur program at the Maine Technology Institute, working with their team to advance MTI’s mission of supporting the development of new business growth in the state of Maine. And, in addition to his own work, he was very generous to emerging entrepreneurs, mentoring and coaching them to success.
Survivors include his beloved life partner, Amanda Larson; parents Karl Sr. and Maxine Rauch; brother Mark Rauch; sisters Laura Francesconi, Irene Villapiano, and Louise Picaroni; daughters Allison Rauch and Kristen Cordasco; and grandson Michael Rauch.
Interment will be private. A memorial service is being planned and will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Bordentown, N.J., on a date to be announced.
