Freeport coaching openings

Freeport High School has fall coaching openings for varsity field hockey, JV/varsity assistant football and boys' first team and girls' first team soccer, winter openings for boys' first team and girls' first team basketball, Alpine skiing and Nordic skiing and spring openings for varsity baseball and varsity assistant baseball. Durham Community School is seeking coaches for boys' 'B' basketball and co-ed indoor track at the middle school level. Freeport Middle School has openings for football, assistant football, boys' soccer, indoor track, Alpine skiing, cheering, 8th grade baseball and girls' lacrosse. Katahdin field hockey tryouts upcoming

Tryouts for the Katahdin Field Hockey team to compete in the US Field Hockey National Outdoor Festival will be held July 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Deering's Memorial Field in Portland. The cost is $20. FMI, suzanne.d.parks@hotmail.com.

Field hockey camp upcoming

The Mainely Stars Field Hockey Camp, directed by Greely varsity coach Kristina Lane Prescott and one-time Rangers star Hayly Ross, will be held from July 15-18 at Greely High School. The program is designed to challenge players and offer them the opportunity to touch the ball and make game decisions. The cost is $180 for residents of Cumberland/North Yarmouth or $190 for non-residents.
