McAuley basketball camp upcoming

McAuley's Topscore basketball camp will have a new director this year, Billy Goodman, the two-time Lions championship coach. The day camp, which has existed for over 30 years, is open to all girls ages 9-14 and runs the weeks of July 8th and 15th. FMI, 797-3892 or mcauley.org.

PAYSA fall rec registration underway

Registration is now open for the Portland Area Youth Soccer Association fall recreational program. The program offers children ages 5 to 11 an opportunity to play soccer, no matter their skill level or ability. The program is divided by age. Boys and girls play separately. Fees are $45 for U-6 players and $65 for players U-8 through U-12. Registration runs through July 15. FMI, paysasoccer.com.

Katahdin field hockey tryouts upcoming

Tryouts for the Katahdin Field Hockey team to compete in the US Field Hockey National Outdoor Festival will be held July 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Deering's Memorial Field in Portland. The cost is $20. FMI, suzanne.d.parks@hotmail.com.
