Bradford Lee Hodgkins, 67
FALMOUTH — Bradford Lee Hodgkins, 67, of Falmouth, died Feb. 6. in Portland.
Born in Hancock to Arthur and Beryl McCallum Hodgkins, he attended Sumner High School in Sullivan.
Following high school Hodgkins joined the Army, serving in France and in the Vietnam War. He returned to Maine from the service and married Beverly Lee Wildes May 13, 1967, in South Portland.
He began his career working with Snodgrass Construction Company. As he gained experience he accepted a position as crane operator for Hallmore Construction Company. In 1976, Hodgkins and his wife started H&H Rigging Company. Their company successfully completed many projects throughout Maine and New England before he fully retired in 2002.
As a younger man Hodgkins enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
Hodgkins was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Norman, Larry and Roger. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Falmouth; a son Troy Hodgkins and his wife, Denise, of Falmouth; a daughter, Holly Hodgkins, of Florida; a sister, Marie Kief, of Sullivan; three grandchildren, Devante, Diondre, Amaya; and a great-grandson, Wyatt.
A graveside service with military rites will be held in the spring at Forest City Cemetery, South Portland. Arrangements are being handled by Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland.
