Topsham special election set for Jan. 15
TOPSHAM — Nomination papers are available for a special election to fill the Board of Selectmen seat being vacated by Andrew Mason.
Papers are due back Dec. 28. The election is scheduled for Jan. 15, 2013.
Mason, a Democrat, defeated Republican Jean Wolkens Nov. 6 in the state House District 60 election. The district, which covers part of Topsham, has been represented by Rep. Kerri Prescott, R-Topsham, who did not seek a fourth term.
Mason, who is two years into a three-year term on the Board of Selectmen, will step down from the Board of Selectmen at its Dec. 6 meeting, Town Manager Cornell Knight said.
