Incumbent Graham remains Maine House 109 winner after recount

NORTH YARMOUTH — A recount Thursday of ballots from state House District 109 confirmed the re-election of Rep. Anne Graham, D-North Yarmouth.

Graham, who was seeking a second term, defeated former Rep. Susan Austin, 2,768 to 2,734, according to official results released Friday by the secretary of state's office.

The final results varied slightly from the unofficial tally on Nov. 6, which showed Graham leading Austin by 42 votes, 2,770 to 2,728.

Austin, a Republican from Gray, requested the recount. She previously served in the House from 2002 to 2010, and defeated Graham in 2006 and 2008.

District 109 includes portions of North Yarmouth, Gray and Pownal.
