New relationships encouraged during lunch

On Tuesday, Oct. 30, the Falmouth Middle School Civil Rights Team and Student Services Office will be sponsoring the school’s participation in the annual Mix It Up at Lunch Day. This is a national event aimed at raising awareness of social boundaries and the process of categorizing people that can lead to stereotypes and prejudice. The event encourages students to sit in a new place and get to know someone new for one day out of the year. There will be activities during lunch to encourage participation and many classrooms will have activities tied into the themes of Mix It Up Day.

Falmouth High School students selected for All-State Festival

Eight Falmouth High School music students received good news as they were selected to perform at the Maine Jazz All-State Festival. Sopranos Kelsey Coyne and Julia Warnock, bassists Matt Estabrook and Riley Engelberger, baritone saxophonist Alexandra Ertman, pianist Alex Han, drummer Nick Groat and alto saxophonist Emma Mooradian had rigourous auditions before they were chosen.
