Letter: Bus service brings business to Falmouth

I am a senior who regularly uses the Falmouth Flyer. It provides me access to Wal-Mart, Staples, and Shaw's, and the Shops at Falmouth Village. My dentist and doctors have offices on Route 1. I have noticed regular Portland riders that utilize the bus to get to work in Falmouth and other riders who also shop in Falmouth. Should Falmouth voters cancel the service, we would be forced to find other places to shop and work. I would also have to find alternate medical care.

The bus is always fairly full on my trips. On a few occasions, I have had to stand. The citizens of Falmouth should balance the cost of support of the Flyer with the loss of revenue from a reduced customer base that might cause some shops and some professionals to move.

I hope the town will continue to support this important contributor to its economy.
