Chairman faces challenge in Topsham election

TOPSHAM — Chairman Donald Russell of Winter Street must defeat challenger Bill Thompson of Arbor Avenue to win another term on the Board of Selectmen.

The Russell-Thompson race is Topsham's only contested town election in November. Dorothy Gardner of Perkins Street is unopposed for her seat on the School Administrative District 75 Board of Directors.

Candidates had to return nomination papers by Sept. 21 to get on the Nov. 6 ballot.
