PORTLAND — With the nomination period for elected municipal offices in Portland now closed, the ballot for the Nov. 6 municipal election is clear.

A total of 17 candidates will compete for 10 offices in Portland. Only two of those races will be uncontested.

Incumbent Sarah Thompson is running unopposed for re-election to her at-large School Board seat. On the Peaks Island Council, Cheryl Miner and Mary Anne Mitchell will run for two seats, each of which has a three-year term.

Two newcomers, Holly Seeliger and Jeanne Swanton, will compete for the School Board District 2 seat, where Ed Bryan is not seeking re-election.

Here are all the candidates who submitted nominating petitions to the city clerk's office by the Monday deadline; all except Justin Pollard, candidate for City Council in District 1, have been qualified for the ballot.

• City councilor, District 1 (1 seat): incumbent Councilor Kevin Donoghue, 75 Beckett St.; Justin Pollard, 30 Eastern Promenade.

• City councilor, District 2 (1 seat): Shane Boyington, 22 Pine St.; incumbent Councilor David Marshall, 41 Pine St.

• City councilor, at large (1 seat): Wellington Lyons, 97 Danforth St.; incumbent Councilor Nicholas Mavodones, 79 Chenery St.

• School Board, District 1 (1 seat): Thomas Kelley, 102 Morning St.; incumbent Jenna Vendil, 38 Vesper St.

• School Board, District 2 (1 seat): Holly Seeliger, 303 Brackett St.; Jeanne Swanton, 69 Thomas St.

• School Board, at large (1 seat): incumbent Sarah Thompson, 83 Starbird Road.

• Peaks Island Council (two, three-year seats): Cheryl Miner, 55 Central Ave.; incumbent Mary Anne Mitchell, 31 Sterling St.

• Peaks Island Council (one-year seat): Marjorie Phyfe, 20 Sandpiper Road; Jimal Thundershield, 36 Pleasant Ave.

• Portland Water District trustee (1 seat): incumbent Gary Libby, 1696 Forest Ave.; Nisha Swinton, 54 Pleasant St.
