Arrests

5/4 at 4:07 p.m. Carmen Vallespi, 28, of Portland, was arrested on Philbrook Avenue by Officer Kevin Sager on charges of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and violation of conditions of release.

5/4 at 4:29 p.m. Sewall T. Maddocks, 51, of Boothbay Harbor, was arrested on Cottage Road by Officer David Stailing on a charge of operating under the influence. 

5/4 at 9:31 p.m. Shaina R. Tibbetts, 23, of Bangor, was arrested on Broadway by Officer Kevin Sager on a charge of operating under the influence. 

5/4 at 11:36 p.m. Taylor L. Webster, 20, of Portland, was arrested on Broadway by Officer Jake Hall on a charge of violation of conditional release.

5/6 at 1:36 p.m. Tova Langley, 26, of Portland, was issued a summons on Cole Street by Officer James Fahey on a charge of assault.

5/7 at 10:58 a.m. Emily J. Iaboni, 28, of South Portland, was issued a summons on Broadway by Officer Kevin Sager on a charge of illegal attachment of plates. 

5/8 at 2:16 a.m. William D. Horsman, 19, of South Portland, and Jesse C. Gertz, 20, of South Portland, we issued summonses on Wild Rose Avenue by Officer Chris Schofield on charges of possession of alcohol by a minor.

5/10 at 4:42 a.m. Bartley P. Hinson, 19, of Unity, was issued a summons on Broadway by Officer Kevin Theriault on a charge of possession of alcohol by a minor.

5/11 at 12:38 a.m. Eric S. Pons, 25, of Scarborough, was issued a summons on Main Street by Officer Brian McCarthy on a charge of operating after suspension.

5/11 at 4:49 p.m. A 16-year-old Naples girl was issued a summons on Maine Mall Road by Officer Kevin Sager on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

TV Party

5/7 at 5:43 p.m. Officers were called to a Cannon Road home for a mother-daughter argument during which the daughter, 15, had smashed a $1,900 TV with a remote control. The girl was on conditional release for a previous charge, and was arrested on a charge of criminal mischief and brought to Long Creek Youth Development Center. 

The free-rider problem

5/10 at 1:59 a.m. A cab driver called police to report an unpaid $28 fare. The driver said he picked up a woman on Commercial Street in Portland and brought her to an apartment building on Minott Street. The woman ran inside to get money, but never came back. Officers showed up and asked the woman, Kathleen L. Taylor, 22, to pay, but she refused. Taylor was arrested on a charge of theft of services.
