FREEPORT — The Southern Maine Volkssport Association will team up with the Freeport Historical Society and the Hampton Inn for a public volkswalk on New Year’s Day.
Participants will meet in the lobby of the Freeport Hampton Inn, 94 Lower Main St., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1. People can walk a 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) or 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). The walk is free and will take place rain or shine, and does not require pre-registration.
