CUMBERLAND — This year’s Memorial Day parade includes the presentation of the first phase of a veterans memorial monument at Moss Side Cemetery on Main Street.

Fire Chief Dan Small is also looking for active and retired military members with ties to the town to participate in the parade on May 24. Those veterans will be the focal point of the parade, and golf carts will be available for those unable to march.

The parade will begin at the Mabel I. Wilson School on Tuttle Road at 10 a.m. It will proceed to Main Street, Moss Side Cemetery and then back toward Greely High School for the conclusion. Participants in the parade will be photographed in front of the 1860s Greely Institute section of the school.

Small can be reached by calling 829-5421, e-mailing dsmall@cumberlandmaine.com or stopping by the Tuttle Road fire station.
