SCARBOROUGH — With the promise of easier use and fresher content, the new town website will debut Monday, Feb. 10, at scarboroughmaine.org.
Jennifer Nichtman, the town’s director of Technology & Information Services, said the new site was built on a Google-based platform using cloud technology that allows individual department heads to quickly update content.
The Google platform allows for “a clean, clear structure and search functionality,” Nichtman said, while continuing to provide updates and bulletins about municipal news.
Nichtman said work on the new site, using available Google apps for graphics, calendars and video, began last summer and was completed as an in-house project without extra expense to taxpayers.
