FREEPORT — The school known for 31 years as Merriconeag Waldorf School has changed its name to Maine Coast Waldorf School.
According to a press release, the name change is part of an effort to attract more Mainers by reflecting the school’s “role as an educational and cultural hub within the wider Maine community.”
The school’s Freeport location is for students in grades 1-8 and also offers early childhood education. High school students go to the school’s New Gloucester campus.
