PORTLAND — Local singer and songwriter Bob McKillop has been selected to establish a Portland Chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association International, the group said in a press release.

Established in 1967, the NSAI is the world’s largest, nonprofit songwriters trade organization. The group has served aspiring and professional songwriters in all music genres for more than 40 years.

McKillop is now one of more than 250 volunteer coordinators who direct more than 120 regional NSAI chapters worldwide.

The Portland chapter meets on the last Monday night of the month and provides local songwriters a chance to improve their skills, learn more about the music industry, evaluate songs and network.

Fore more information, contact McKillop at 272-2748 or bob@bobmckillop.com or visit the group’s Facebook page, “NSAI Portland Maine.”
