FALMOUTH — A man who allegedly used a knife to steal narcotics Tuesday from the Rite-Aide Pharmacy on Depot Road was arrested almost seven hours later.

Police said Cory Waugh, 32, of Naples, entered the pharmacy at 33 Depot Road at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Aug. 2. He was alone, displayed the knife to the pharmacist, and demanded narcotics. He fled north toward the Falmouth Shopping Center after receiving the drugs.

Waugh was eventually arrested without incident by Falmouth police and Cumberland County Sheriffs Office deputies at 16 Stable Road, Naples, at approximately 10:50 p.m. The South Portland Police Department K-9 team provided tracking, and police said they also received assistance from citizens who witnessed the search.

Waugh was charged with robbery, a Class A felony, and violating conditions of release, a Class C felony. He was also subject to a warrant for domestic assault, and a warrant for violating conditions of release.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday, Aug. 5, in the Cumberland County Unified Criminal Docket in Portland.
