BRUNSWICK — Nancy A. Wagner, 61, died June 3 at her sister’s home in Brunswick.

She was born in Brunswick on April 22, 1948, a daughter of Anthony F. and Angela M. (Burgio) Gagne.

After attending local schools, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Orono in 1970, and later received an associates degree in business from Casco Bay College.

She taught elementary school in local schools before starting her own business called Tumblewear, making custom leotards for gymnastics. Most recently she worked as the outreach coordinator for the Perry-Macmillan Arctic Museum at Bowdoin College.

She was a well-rounded, strong woman, with a great sense of humor. Her interests included reading, crocheting, collecting sea glass and enjoying the ocean during family trips to Bailey Island.

She was predeceased by her mother Angela in 2004.

Surviving are her two daughters, Michelle S. Wagner of Nashua, N.H. and Amy L. Wagner of Hatfield, Penn.; her father Anthony of Brunswick; a sister, Suzanne L. and her husband Robert Cameron of Brunswick, a brother, Richard J. and his wife Joni Gagne of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s School, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick, ME 04011; the American Cancer Society, One Maine St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086; or CHANS Home Health Care, 60 Baribeau Drive, Brunswick, ME 04011.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.
