CUMBERLAND — The deadline to submit names for engraving on a veterans monument at Moss Side Cemetery is just around the corner.
The three-stone monument, to be dedicated this Memorial Day, recognizes “all Cumberland residents who have served our country in times of war and peace.” The black granite stones will be inscribed with names of veterans dating back to the Civil War. There is room for 1,400 names.
Applications to have a name engraved on the monument must be submitted by Thursday, March 15. The list of veteran names can be viewed at Town Hall or cumberlandmaine.com.
The monument will dedicated on Memorial Day.
