PORTLAND — The public is invited to learn how to administer naloxone Wednesday, June 22, following a 6 p.m. community dinner at HopeGateWay Church, 509 Forest Ave.

Also known by its Narcan tradename, naloxone blocks the effects of opioids and reverses overdoses. The training, as well as instruction in hands-only CPR, is co-sponsored by The Portland Overdose Prevention Project, The Portland Exchange, Portland Public Health, Portland Fire Department and Hope Acts.
