NORTH YARMOUTH — Veterans Memorial Park will be rededicated on Flag Day, Sunday, June 14, a day after the sixth annual Tri-NY triathlon.

The park ceremony will be held at the corner of Route 9 and Parsonage Road at 11 a.m. Children and adults will be able to place small flags honoring or remembering a veteran. Transportation is available by calling 449-7923.

The five-acre parcel was created in 1949, on land provided by Henry Sweetser.

The Tri-NY starts at Wescustogo Park on Route 231 at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 13. Participants paddle two miles down the Royal River to the landing, run one mile and bicycle one mile through Old Town House Park, and end at the park finish line on Route 9.

Registrations are due by Friday, June 12, and are available online at active.com and facebook.com/TriNorthYarmouth.
