SUBHEAD-Girls and Women in Sports Day upcoming
Bowdoin College will host the annual Girls and Women in Sports Day Sunday, Feb. 8 at Farley Field House. The session for grades K through 3 is from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Grades 4 through high school go from 2:30 to 4:45 p.m. The free event is designed to introduce young women to a wide range of sports. Pizza and snacks with the Bowdoin student-athletes will be available afterwards.

SUBHEAD-Tucker’s Boardercross for Cancer upcoming
The fourth annual Tucker’s Boardercross for Cancer, a fundraiser for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, which also honors the life of Yarmouth’s Tucker Olmsted, will be held Feb. 14 and 15 at Sunday River. The Olmsted family and MCCP have established a Special Purpose Fund, dedicated to research, development and promotion for complementing approaches in the treatment of cancer. Shirts and hoodies, raffle and auction items will also be available.

SUBHEAD-Casco Bay Stripers end regular season
The Casco Bay YMCA Stripers swim team recently ended its regular season with more team records falling by the wayside. Evan Coleman set new marks in the 13-14 boys’ 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Abby Belisle-Haley set new records in the 11-2 girls’ 100 individual medley and 50 fly. Zach Rolland lowered his team record in the 11-12 boys’ 50 breaststroke and also set a new mark in the 500 free. Emelia Von Saltza beat her mark in the 11-12 girls’ 50 and Dan Grover is the new record-holder in the 13-14 boys’ 50 breaststroke.

SUBHEAD-SailMaine seeks coaches
SailMaine is seeking coaches for the spring season. Teams practice three days a week from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

SUBHEAD-Casco Bay Sports winter offerings
Casco Bay Sports is now offering co-ed Tuesday and Thursday basketball leagues with referees. Monday Night Social Runs (6 p.m.) and Wednesday Night Rock Climbing (6:30 p.m.) are also being offered.
