Nominees named to
U.S. military academies
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sens. Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins recently named the Maine nominees to the U.S. military academies. Local students were among those nominated.
John Bradley of North Yarmouth and Tatjana Schneider of Freeport were nominated to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
Andrew Totta of Yarmouth was nominated to the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md.

Sawyer, Wyman named
to dean’s list at WPI
WORCESTER, Mass. — Jesse Sawyer, son of Jeffrey Sawyer of Falmouth, and Ethan Wyman, son of Lynda Wyman of Falmouth, were named to the 2008 spring semester dean’s list at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Curran joins EMS
team at Bates College
LEWISTON — Margaret Curran, daughter of Richard and Margaret Curran of Falmouth, recently joined Bates College Emergency Medical Services.
The volunteer EMS members are students who are licensed emergency medical technicians or first responders.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Anna Farnum, Shannon Hulst and Kristen Sabo, all of Falmouth, were recently named to the dean’s list at Providence College for the 2008 fall semester.

Kilroy inducted into
Catholic honor society
WASHINGTON D.C. — Cara Kilroy, daughter of Brian and Barbara Kilroy of Falmouth, was recently inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society at The Catholic University of America, where she is a sophomore in the nursing program.
