The real price of gas
1/30 at 1:10 a.m. A woman called police to report the theft of her wallet from the front seat of her car. According to the complaint, the woman pumped gas at the Irving Station on Route 1 and then took her credit card inside the station to pay, leaving her wallet behind. On her way in, she noticed a man washing his windshield at a nearby pump and told him he should put out his cigarette while at the station. When she came back to her car, her wallet and the man were both gone.

1/31 at 2:04 p.m. Police responded to Hannaford Supermarket where it was reported that a woman had allegedly stolen about $700 worth of liquor. The woman was known to the store for previous thefts of alcohol. According to police, in the past, the suspect has served time for these thefts but once released, has allegedly continued the pattern.
Just resting
2/3 at 8:38 a.m. A caller reported a baby seal, with a possible injury to his back, on the dock at Town Landing. Following advice from the Marine Unit Hotline, officers kept an eye on the seal until it eventually made its way back into the water.

2/9 Acting on orders from U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services, Cumberland police arrested Campos Torres, 36, of Main Street, Belgrade. No charge was given. A Cumberland police report states that USCIS said Torres “may” have an arrest warrant against him. Torres was picked up and turned over to USCIS “for questioning.”

2/5 at 5:26 a.m. Police were notified of a light going on and off in a resident’s hallway, but no one else was supposed to be in the house. When police arrived, it was determined that there was a faulty electrical socket and an electrician would be needed.
