FREEPORT — The Regional School Unit 5 Board of Directors will meet for the first time Thursday, Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Freeport High School library.
The 11-member board includes six Freeport residents, three Durham residents and two Pownal residents. The agenda includes drawing lots to determine term limits, and appointing board leadership.
Members will also be appointed to interim finance, negotiations and policy subcommittees, and will act to appoint an interim school attorney and a school superintendent.
The RSU board will also establish cost sharing of budget funds and designate Freeport Public Schools as fiscal agent for the interim period.
Other items to be discussed include the RSU orientation, the 2010 budget process, a schedule of meetings and required work, and suggested timeline.
