FALMOUTH —The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety has awarded a $10,000 grant to Falmouth’s Fire-EMS Department.
The money will be used to conduct child passenger safety outreach activities that will include car seat checkup events, continuing education classes for child passenger safety technicians and a National Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification class.
Of the 319 seats checked in Falmouth last year, only 9 of them, or 3 percent, had been installed correctly.
The department conducts free car seat inspections at Central Station, 8 Bucknam Road, on the first Thursday of every month.
