BRUNSWICK — Myrtis (West) Fritzson, 94,  died March 13 in Brunswick.

Born in 1917 in New Britain, Conn., she was a daughter of Bertha (Glabau) West and Elmer West.

In 1944 she married Albert Fritzson.

For 24 years she was an elementary school teacher in New Britain.

She was active in the New Britain community, serving as president of the Shuttle Meadow Garden Club; a docent at the New Britain Museum of American Art; a member of the New Britain Woman’s Club; and a member of the Connecticut Retired Teachers’ Association and the National Retired Teachers’ Association.

In 1998 she and Albert moved to Thornton Oaks in Brunswick, and she became an active member of the Thornton Oaks community and the First Parish Church in Brunswick.

Her husband Albert predeceased her in 1999.

She is survived by her sons, Bruce Fritzson of Cumberland, and Paul Fritzson and his wife Martha Drury of Freeport; and by her granddaughters, Emily and Natalie.

Services will be private.

Funeral arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
