PORTLAND — New York-based violist Kallie Ciechomski will perform a recital on Sunday, Jan. 2, at 3 p.m. to benefit Safe Passage.
Ciechomski will perform works by Bach, Schumann, Carter and Dvorak at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 56 High St.
Ciechomski, a Portland native, will be joined by local artists Jennifer Elowitch, a violinist who plays regularly with the Boston Pops; Ron Lantz of the Portland String Quartet, and pianists Chiharu Naruse and Nick Place.
The suggested donation of $10 at the door will benefit Safe Passage, a nonprofit organization based in Yarmouth that provides support for more than 300 families who live around the Guatemala City Dump. For more information visit safepassage.org or call 846-1188.
