FREEPORT — Bill Muldoon was elected chairman of the Town Council and Jim Cassida was elected vice chairman Tuesday.
The vote was 5-2. Councilors Joe Migliaccio and Eric Pandora voted against Muldoon and Cassida, and Pandora nominated Migliaccio to serve as vice chairman.
Muldoon is entering his third year as a councilor and Cassida is a former council chairman.
“Bill has the ability to listen to people, take it in, and then circle it back for the public to understand,” outgoing Chairman Rich DeGrandpre said. “He will do a great job.”
