PORTLAND — A nearly five-month construction project at one of the city’s busiest intersections was scheduled to begin Tuesday.
The Maine Department of Transportation is making improvements to the Riverside Street and Warren Avenue intersection, including roadway widening, additional lanes, new sidewalks, improved signals and new guardrail.
About 22,000 vehicles use the intersection daily. Drivers should be prepared for uneven lanes, exposed manhole/catch basin covers and lane shifts, the DOT said in a press release.
The $1.8 million project is expected to be complete by mid-November.
