CAPE ELIZABETH — After narrowly winning a special election last year, one-year incumbent State Rep. Kim Monaghan-Derrig, D-Cape Elizabeth, was re-elected again, defeating Republican Nancy Thompson for the House District 121 seat.
Monaghan-Derrig beat Thompson 3,022 to 2,329 for the seat, which covers part of Cape Elizabeth.
Monaghan-Derrig will serve her first full two-year term after beating Thompson last year to take Democratic Sen. Cynthia Dill’s vacated the seat.
Dill won the State Senate District 7 and subsequently lost her bid for the U.S. Senate Tuesday.
