BRUNSWICK — Mildred “Millie” J. Weed, 87, died Feb. 23.

Weed was born on Sept. 4, 1924, in Hartford, Conn. She was the daughter of Jerry and Marion Crosman. She was educated in Brunswick schools and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1934. She met and married Lawrence S. Weed in Everett, Wash., on July 23, 1943.

In 1945 she and her husband started L.S. Weed and Sons plumbing where she served as the book keeper until she retired in 1977.

She enjoyed oil and watercolor painting and was an avid cribbage player who enjoyed being dealt a “29 hand.”

She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, and son, Timothy Weed.

Weed is survived by her son, Christopher A. Weed, of Oxford; daughter Rosemary Werry of Pomeroy, Ohio; eight-grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the giver’s charity of choice.
