Memorial Middle School captain Danica Gleason culminated a perfect season at last month’s Middle School Festival Meet at the Portland Expo. It’s believed to be the first time in at least two decades that such a feat had occurred. Gleason scored 67.5 points on the year, the highest possible. She ranked first in senior hurdles and the shot put. Gleason is also the school record holder in the 45 hurdles. She won that event and the shot put at the Festival and anchored a first-place 840-yard relay team. (Contributed photo)
