Rowing club looking for members

A rowing club is starting in mid-May at Bowdoin College Boathouse on the New Meadows River at Sawyer Park. There will be both sweeping and sculling, 8’s, 4’s, singles, etc. The group will row in the morning for an hour with a coach on the water with the group. Learn to Row is also available.

Free promotional soccer clinic upcoming

Freeport Recreation and Community Education, along with Challenger Sports, is offering a free promotional soccer clinic Wednesday at the Freeport Middle School gym. U-4 and U-5 go from 12 to 1 p.m. U-6 and U-7 go from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. U-8 through U-12 go from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

First Annual Run or Walk for AIDS upcoming

The Frannie Peabody Center is holding a Beach and Bay 5K Run or Walk for AIDS Saturday, May 2 in Ogunquit, beginning at 11 a.m., and around Back Cove in Portland, starting at 12 p.m. The Portland race is USATF certified. Both races will be professionally timed.
