Bowdoin’s hockey season ends

The championship hopes of both the Bowdoin men’s and women’s hockey teams were dashed last weekend. The men lost, 4-2, at Utica in the Division III national quarterfinals. The Polar Bears (23-4-2) set a new program record for victories and led, 2-0, in the first period, behind goals from Ollie Koo and Harry Matheson, but couldn’t hold on. The women’s squad was also eliminated in the quarterfinal round, 4-0, by visiting Elmira. Bowdoin’s 21-5-2 record marked the most victories for the program in a decade. Kayla Lessard made 21 saves in defeat.
