Local lacrosse players named All-Americans
The Class A state champion Brunswick girls’ lacrosse team placed senior Cecilia Kjellman on the Maine All-American team. The Dragons boys’ team produced an All-American in senior defenseman Max Rosner. Brunswick coach Don Glover was named Maine Coach of the Year. Mt. Ararat senior Chris Lalond qualified for the Academic All-American team. Lalond scored 1,990 on his SATs.
Field hockey all-star game Saturday
The annual senior field hockey all-star game is Saturday at Colby College in Waterville, with the alumni game at 5:30 p.m. and the senior all-stars playing at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors, all the proceeds go to the Family Violence Project.
Wrestling series coming to Morse
The 25th annual Maine/Nebraska wrestling exchange will make a stop at Morse High School Sunday. It will be the fourth of four competitions in the longest running exchange of its type. Several wrestlers from Morse and Mt. Ararat are scheduled to compete.
First annual lacrosse refereeing camp scheduled
The first annual Midcoast Lacrosse Refereeing Camp will be held July 6 through 9 at Bowdoin College. Times are 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. the first three days and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 9. Directed by Mary Parker and Sue Perkins, the camp features classroom instruction, mechanics, game tape analysis, rules clarification, extensive on-field mentoring and more.
