Former Morse standout earns Maine Baseball Hall of Fame nod

Leonardo “Leon” Buck of Bath, a one-time dominant pitcher for Morse High School and Bowdoin College and a pitcher for the semi-pro Bath Clippers in the Heart O’ Maine League, is one of 13 new inductees into the Maine Baseball Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland on July 25. Tickets are available by calling 232-8256, 883-0154 or 846-3460.

New rowing club starting

Save Swinging Bridge 5K upcoming

The seventh annual Save Our Swinging Bridge 5K will be held Sunday at 10 a.m., in Topsham’s Lower Village and Brunswick’s Downtown. The race benefits maintenance on the 118-year-old Roebling-built bridge. FMI, 837-0558 or saveourbridge.org.
