Former Boston Bruins greats to play in all-star game

Former Boston Bruins standouts including Kenny Linseman, Ken Hodge, Andy Brickley, Bobby Beers, Don Marcotte, Frank Siminetti and others will face local male and female high school all-stars Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m. at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Portland Porpoise offerings

The Portland Porpoise swim club is offering a high school prep program this spring for swimmers who wish to continue their conditioning. Training will focus primarily on stroke technique and drills and general aerobic conditioning. The session runs April 25 through June 22. Practices are Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m., and Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00 p.m., at the Riverton Pool in Portland. There will also be open assessments and registration for new swimmers through May at the Riverton Community Center in Portland for children ages 6-8 interested in competitive swimming. Brunswick man helps set swim records

Brunswick’s Hap Hazzard (age 79) and teammates Phil Kerr (76), William Reeve (79) and Hans Wendel (79) recently established five New England 75-plus relay records at the New England Masters Swimming championships in Cambridge, Mass. Setting new marks in the 200 and 400 medley relays, 200, 400 and 800 free relays, the men helped Maine Masters Swim Club to another swimming team title.

Senior Softball League seeks new team
