First Little Free Library to open in Topsham

Eight students at Williams Cone are designing and building a Little Free Library  with parents and a builder from Treutel Construction at the elementary school. The Little Free Library, which is the first in Topsham, will be introduced by Principal Randa Rineer Wednesday, March 16, during a Read-A-Thon for the entire school.

The philosophy behind Little Free Library is promoting the love of books and encourage reading in children. The concept of “read a book, leave a book, share a book” began in Hudson, Wisconsin, in December 2009 by Todd Bol, who started the idea as a tribute to his mother, a teacher and bibliophile.
