National Merit awards

EVANSTON, Ill. — Danielle E. Smith of Bowdoin, a recent graduate of Mount Ararat High School in Topsham and Will D. Geoghagan of Brunswick, a recent graduate of Brunswick High School, were each awarded a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship from The National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation-financed awards can be used one time at any regionally accredited college or university in the country.

Daniel G. Pavit of Brunswick, a recent graduate of Brunswick High School, was awarded a National Merit Tufts University Scholarship.

College-sponsored National Merit Scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the college financing the scholarship.
