Miss Maine Day crowns local teen
BRUNSWICK — The Miss Maine Scholarship Program held its annual Miss Maine Day at Brunswick High School on Sept. 23. Miss Maine Day is a pageant that raises funds for the scholarship program and awards titles in four age groups.
Emily Baker, 14, of Topsham, was crowned Miss Young Teen Maine 2012. She also won the competition’s interview portion and essay contest, and was named Miss Photogenic.
Audrey Thames, 17, also of Topsham, won the interview portion and essay contest of the Miss Teen Maine 2012 competition.
The Miss Maine Scholarship Program is the preliminary program for the Miss America Pageant, the largest source of scholarships for young women in the world, awarding over $45 million last year at the local, state and national levels.
