MILL VALLEY, Calif. — Michelle Lynn Stackpole, 54, formerly of Cape Elizabeth, died Nov. 7 at Marin General Hospital from a brain aneurysm.
On Dec. 19, 1954, she was born in Portland on her mother’s birthday, the daughter of Jerry and Joanne Mitchell Stackpole.
She attended schools in Gloucester, Mass., and Cape Elizabeth, graduating from Cape Elizabeth High School in 1972.
For the past 25 years, she has lived in Mill Valley, Calif., where she worked for Whole Foods for the last 15 years.
An avid sports fan, she enjoyed the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers and was a passionate supporter of the Boston Red Sox or any team that beat the New York Yankees.
She and her mother traveled twice to Ireland in the past few years, which was a wonderful experience for both of them.
She was predeceased by her father Jerry Stackpole, her two brothers, Timothy and Thomas Stackpole, her grandparents, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Survivors include her mother, Joanne Stackpole of Cape Elizabeth; her loving companion, Jose Chel Vitzil of Mill Valley, Calif.; and many dear friends.
A memorial service was held in Cape Elizabeth on Tuesday.
Memorial donations may be made to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center, 22 Bramhall St., Portland, ME 04102; to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101, or to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements in Maine are by Hobbs Funeral Home, Cottage Road, South Portland.
