PORTLAND — Michael Wayne Dumond, 44, died suddenly Oct. 7 in Portland.

On June 8, 1966, he was born in Portland, a son of Edmund G. and Lillian F. (Kopacz) Dumond.

He attended Westbrook schools.

Over the years he worked in freight delivery and most recently, in property maintenance.

Known as an outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed boating, fishing, snowmobiling, ATV riding and playing frisbee golf with his sons.

He also enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR.

He was predeceased by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Lillian, and stepfather, John L. Norton Jr.; a brother, Edmund G. Dumond, his wife Laurene and their children Brandon, Kyle, Maresa and Adrianna; two sons, Michael Dumond, and Christopher A. Dumond and his companion Kayla Menaro; a grandson, Caden M Dumond; several aunts and uncles; cousins; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15 at St. Patrick’s Church, 1342 Congress St., Portland. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland.
