BRUNSWICK — Michael L. Fournier, 61, died July 11, while camping in Damariscotta.

He was born in Brunswick, March 4, 1951, the son of John P. and Lucille St. Pierre Fournier. He graduated Brunswick High School in 1969, and from Northeastern University with a degree in mechanical engineering.  

He married Jane Marquis in Scituate, Mass. on Dec. 31, 2001.

Fournier was employed as an engineer with Vanderweil Engineering in Boston for 17 years and was a principal at Flack & Kurtz Engineering in Boston.

Fournier was an avid tennis player and a member of the Boston Athletic Club for 30 years.

He is predeceased by two brothers, David Fournier and William Paschke.

He is survived by his wife Jane, of Scituate, Mass.; his mother, of Brunswick; daughter Tammy Higgins, of Weymouth, Mass.; daughter Nikole Fournier, of Winthrop, Mass.; daughter Trinity Lewis, of Scituate, Mass.; son James Taylor, of Quincy, Mass.; foster sister Doris Leclerc and her husband, Maurice, of Bear Pond; brother Eric Fournier and his wife, Wallis, of Columbia, Md.; and five grandchildren, Madeline Sherman, Shayne Higgins, Brenden Higgins, Ryan Higgins and Marley Demaio.

A funeral was held July 17 at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick. Internment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick.
