BRUNSWICK — Michael C. Smith, 51, died Nov. 8 at Mid Coast Hospital.

Born on April 6, 1960 in Brunswick, he was the son of Virgil and Maxine Dulac Smith. On August 17, 1996, he married his wife Linda Milliken.

In 1978, Smith graduated from Brunswick High School and worked in security for several years at Maine Yankee and later at Bowdoin College. He also worked for Alice West in Southport and was employed at Thorton Oaks in the maintenance department until the time of his illness.

He enjoyed gambling at the casinos, fishing and smelting, and riding motorcycles.

Smith is survived by his parents; his wife of 15 years; children Corrina Tibbets of Bowdoinham and Christopher Tibbets of Brunswick; stepchildren Sandy Ruehl and Husband Tim of Lisbon, Tina Sines and husband Jeff of Westbrook, Kim Garvey of Bath, Cassie Taylor of Vermont, and Jason Cooper of Lisbon; uncle Donald W. Dulac of Bowdoinham; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours were held on Nov. 11 at Stetson’s Funeral Home in Brunswick. Burial will take place in the spring.
